Community Mediation
Program
Description
Solutions for Living's
Community Mediation Program offers dispute resolution
services to Individuals
who seek an alternative process to the courts. Disputes
among friends, neighbors, landlords/tenants, and
restitution cases may be resolved in confidential
mediation sessions.
The service will provide:
- Intake for the
purpose of explaining the mediation process and
helping participants develop realistic
expectations
- A non-threatening,
informal atmosphere conducive to direct and open
communication
- A trained volunteer
mediator, capable of impartiality, skilled in
modeling positive,
constructive communication, and experienced in
helping mediation participants to draw upon
their own strengths
- Follow up for the
purpose of monitoring restitution payments and/or
supporting participants
in following through with any agreements reached
